The New Testament has 39 books, while the Old Testament has 27. The Luke Gospel is among the four Gospels of Jesus Christ, including Matthew, Mark, and John. he gave a detailed Chronological event of Jesus Christ from his childhood to manhood among the four Gospels. The Gospel of Luke talks about the origins, birth, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ.
Author and Place of Origin
According to Luke, the author of the Gospel is Luke the Evangelist. An ancient prologue describes Luke as a Syrian from Antioch (Marecek, 2012). This shows that he was not Jewish. The writings of Luke are deemed anonymous, but eyewitnesses such as Bishop Eusebius of Caesarea in the Holy Land allude that Luke was a Syrian and a descendant from Antioch in the 4th Century AD. Other scholars refer to Luke as Gentile Convert and a companion to St Paul in his missionary journeys.
