The Gospel of Luke talks about the origins, birth, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. Author and Place of Origin According to Luke, the author of the Gospel is Luke the Evangelist. An ancient prologue describes Luke as a Syrian from Antioch (Marecek, 2012). This shows that he was not Jewish. The writings of Luke are deemed anonymous, but eyewitnesses such as Bishop Eusebius of Caesarea in the Holy Land allude that Luke was a Syrian and a descendant from Antioch in the 4th Century AD.
