According to Kurdi & Dunham (2022), social cognition are mental processes and abilities used by humans and other social animals to perceive, interpret and understand social information. It is a process that entails how humans process, store and apply about other people and social situations. What makes social cognition a social issue of interest is the fact that it plays a significant role in how different people interact with each other, form relationship as well as how they navigate the complex social world. To this effect, understanding social cognition is important as it helps promote healthy social interactions, reduce prejudice and discrimination as well as enhance communication and relationships in the society.
